Partners in Foster Care, Inc, was established in 1988 by Cora White, a long time foster parent and businesswoman to fill the void between available government services and the exceptional needs of children in foster and other out-of-home placements. Partners in Foster Care, Inc. is now known as Foster Care Children and Family Fund. 

Cora discovered that many people in the business community shared her love and concern for the care of these special children. They were willing to put forth their time, money and resources to foster the children’s well-being in a variety of ways to help them become healthy, happy and productive people.

Foster Care Children and Family Fund is an international alliance between private individuals and business leaders investing in the future of children.

Objectives & Goals

To ensure that all destitute and abandoned children receive the basic necessities of life, i.e., food, shelter, clothing, medical care and basic education.

To reduce the number of destitute children without adequate care in the district and to provide them with a basic education.

To provide a happy family atmosphere in which the young children will develop their personality, accept responsibility and enjoy their freedom.

Services & Benefits

Foster Care Children and Family Fund serves as an information and referral organization that provides the following:

1. Holiday Party for all children and youth living in foster care during the Christmas season for children ages 0 through 18 years.

2. Scholarship Program to qualifying graduating high school seniors desiring to complete their education at a school of higher learning. Scholarships are presented twice a year.

3. Educational Training for foster parents to help them improve their skills in providing better care of the children entrusted in their homes.

4. Back to School Picnic where school supplies are distributed to ease the financial burden on the foster family. Approximately 400 children are served at this function.

5. Respite Foster Camp sponsored conducted for 135 boys and girls, ages 6-13 for one week during the summer. The children represent all races and cultures. Children with physical and mental disabilities, emotional and behavioral challenges are provided the same opportunities as all children. We held our first successful camp in August, 1997.
